Coda on Centre Earns Prestigious LEED® Gold Certification
We are happy to announce that we have been awarded LEED Gold! The LEED rating system, developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), is the foremost program for buildings, homes, and communities that are designed, constructed, maintained, and operated for improved environmental and human health performance.
LEED standards include sustainable design and construction elements including water-efficient fixtures (30% less water usage than baseline) and an energy-efficient building envelope. Low-emitting paints, coatings, adhesives, and floorings make for improved air quality; while recycled and regionally produced building materials and our building-wide recycling program are also incorporated.
Site selection also factored in greatly to the Certification. Before construction could begin, the site had to go through brownfield remediation. Our pedestrian-friendly proximity to grocery stores, shopping, restaurants and healthcare were also a large help.
